Abstract

Introduction. Determining the age of injuries is an important aspect of forensic medical expertise, especially in cases of spleen injuries caused by blunt objects. The spleen, as an organ responsible for filtering blood and regulating immune processes, can be severely damaged as a result of traumatic impact. Establishing an accurate diagnosis and determining the time of injury is crucial for the legal assessment of the incident, as it can influence the determination of guilt and the choice of penalties. There are several methods available to assess the age of spleen injuries, including morphological analysis, clinical data, and the use of modern medical technologies. This paper reviews the main approaches to determining the time of spleen injuries and the factors that may affect their interpretation.
