Abstract

Introduction. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to improve the methodology of forensic medical examination of injuries to the skin in modern conditions of the development of medical science and law enforcement practice. Scarring of the skin is an important object of study, which carries significant information about the nature, duration, and mechanism of injury. The examination of skin scars has been and remains one of the most common types of forensic medical examination, characterized by a high degree of subjectivity.

Conclusions: thus, skin scars are very stable structures, it is precisely they that often become the object of forensic medical examination in cases of referral of victims for later examination.
