Abstract
Introduction: There are difficulties in diagnosing and treating pancreatic injuries in blunt abdominal trauma. Endovideoscopic technologies — multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) and videolaparoscopy — provide opportunities to improve the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment.
Purpose: To improve the effective diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic injuries in blunt trauma using endovideoscopic technologies.
Materials and Methods:125 patients treated from 2020 to 2024 at the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care and its branches were studied. Patients were examined using ultrasound (US), multidetector CT, and videolaparoscopy. Injuries were evaluated according to the AAST classification. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 software.
Results: MDCT showed 91% sensitivity and 88% accuracy, while videolaparoscopy demonstrated 89% sensitivity and 94% accuracy, proving effective in diagnosis and treatment. Videolaparoscopy significantly reduced the number of serious complications and mortality rates and shortened hospital stay.
Conclusion: Endovideoscopic technologies showed high effectiveness in detecting and treating pancreatic injuries. Videolaparoscopy is especially recommended for Grade I–II injuries.
