Abstract

Critical limb ischemia (CLI) represents the most severe stage of peripheral arterial atherosclerosis and is often accompanied by multilevel vascular lesions, severe calcification, and comorbid conditions (cardiac, renal, metabolic). These factors complicate treatment decision-making and worsen prognosis. Despite the high morbidity and mortality, the introduction of secondary prevention strategies and the advancement of endovascular technologies in recent years have significantly improved survival rates and limb preservation. This article focuses on contemporary treatment strategies for CLI with an emphasis on arterial revascularization methods.
