DIFFUSE MIDLINE GLIOMA OF THE BRAINSTEM: GENETIC FEATURES, DIFFICULTIES AND TREATMENT PROSPECTS

Abstract

Diffuse midline glioma of the brain is a rare, but very aggressive and resistant glial tumor. This pathology is characterized by the impossibility of performing radical surgical treatment, radioresistance, unresponsiveness to drug therapy, high childhood morbidity, low quality of life of patients, frequent development of complications in the form of neurological deficit and unfavorable prognosis. The lack of an effective treatment regimen for diffuse midline glioma of the brain necessitates the search for alternative methods (virus therapy, immunotherapy), but there is insufficient data on this topic, which requires further study.
