PERSONALIZED REHABILITATION STRATEGIES AFTER HIP REPLACEMENT: A FOCUS ON FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY AND EFFICIENCY

Abstract
Introduction: This study evaluates the effectiveness of a new multidisciplinary medical rehabilitation model compared to the previous system in patients undergoing hip arthroplasty, based on clinical data from a specialized facility in Uzbekistan. Emphasis is placed on early mobilization, individualized strategies, and improved functional outcomes during the first and third recovery stages.
Purpose: To analyze the impact of a structured, stage-based rehabilitation program on functional recovery and the overall efficiency of the rehabilitation process in patients after total hip arthroplasty.
Methods: 156 patients undergoing cementless THA were divided into two groups: an intervention group (n=126) receiving enhanced rehabilitation (early mobilization, pre-op training, team-based care), and a comparison group (n=30) receiving standard care. Functional outcomes were assessed using the Lequesne Index and Harris Hip Score.
Results: By the end of the third rehabilitation stage, the intervention group showed significantly better results: Harris score 82.13 vs. 76.01 (p<0.05), Lequesne score 5.30 vs. 7.61 (p<0.05). Recovery was also faster — 21.0 vs. 30.6 days (a 45.7% reduction in duration).
Conclusion: The new rehabilitation model after total hip arthroplasty showed significantly better functional outcomes, shorter inpatient stays (5.80 ± 1.20 days), and faster achievement of recovery goals (within 21 days) compared to the traditional system. These findings support its high clinical and organizational effectiveness and recommend its practical implementation in modern rehabilitation care.
